UCLC – Who Are We?

We’re a low-barrier daytime support center in Augusta, Maine, offering a caring connection for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Our mission

The United Community Living Center provides a sense of safety and security to individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. We aim to be a helping hand by offering support and instilling hope for the future.

We help people where they are

UCLC offers a safe place to rest during open hours, access basic supports, and get help navigating housing, benefits, and documentation.

We coordinate with partners across the greater Augusta area so people don’t have to figure it out alone.

Our approach is built on dignity and trust

We focus on practical, respectful support—whether someone needs a warm place to be, a connection to a clinic, help replacing an ID or a referral to local resources.

Our goal is simple: make it easier to take the next step.
